Chincoteague RefugeThe state-of-the-art facility is brimming with areas of interest for even a casual observer. Visitors will be treated to exhibits featuring many computer-enhanced features.

One is a piping plover tracking system where visitors can shadow the movements of any tagged bird via the Internet. In a larger-than-life eagle's nest, visitors get a literal "bird's-eye view" of what a nest looks like. Nearby will be a television with a live camera feed of a real eagle's nest.

The building also features a 125-seat auditorium equipped with the latest in audio-visual technology. There is also a classroom for visiting school groups equipped with work tables, microscopes and various other science and nature-related materials.

Chincoteague RefugeExplore the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, world famous for the Chincoteague wild Ponies, and take in all the spectacular views. The Refuge offers an Interpretive Program Schedule, including bird watching, the history of Lighthouses, evening walks, and the fragile Eco-system of the land. Birdwatchers will be delighted to find that the refuge is home to over 260 species of birds and waterfowl. Be sure to visit the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center.
